Notes
'Modeste Guérin' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Modeste Guérin') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, double flowers are dark rose-pink with a slightly violet tint and a brighter center. They are fragrant and open in early spring. The stems and foliage are good, and the plant grows strongly.
Pairs well with Black Parrot tulip, Sensitive fern, and Tickseed.
