Notes

'Mojave Red' purslane (Portulaca 'Mojave Red') is an annual for containers, rock gardens, ground cover, and xeriscape. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or clay soil. It grows 4 to 8 inches tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches wide. Red flowers open in mid to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies visit them.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Lemon thyme, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
