Notes

Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) is an annual for borders, containers, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and stays low, reaching 3 to 9 inches tall. Bees visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Creeping zinnia, Red Wings moss phlox, Cerise Queen yarrow, and Red fescue.
