Notes

Mondo grass (Ophiopogon planiscapus) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The evergreen leaves are black with a purple and lavender tint. Clumps grow 9 to 12 inches tall and wide, and they spread slowly.
