Notes
'Variegatus' mondo grass (Ophiopogon japonicus 'Variegatus') is a perennial for ground cover, borders, shade gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pale lavender flowers appear from early to late summer. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The evergreen clumps grow 9 to 18 inches tall and handle drought and salt.
Pairs well with Foam flower, Azalea, Woodland phlox, and Society garlic.
