Notes

'Morello' cherry (Prunus cerasus 'Morello') is a tree for borders, food gardens, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and bees, butterflies, and birds visit the flowers. The tart cherries ripen late in the season. The tree is self-fertile, so one tree can set fruit on its own.

Pairs well with Gala apple, Royal Star star magnolia, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
