Notes

Mountain ash (Sorbus decora) is a tree for use as a specimen. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil. White flowers open in late spring and early summer. Glossy red or orange berries follow and hang in heavy clusters that feed birds. Fire blight and borers can be serious problems, and the wood is weak.

Pairs well with Borealis honeyberry, Twinflower, and Red fescue.
