Notes

'Nana' hybrid willow (Salix purpurea 'Nana') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast and forms a broad mound of 3 to 5 feet in height and spread. Grayish-white blooms open in early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Spicebush, Cinnamon fern, and Big bluestem.
