Notes

'Pendula' hybrid willow (Salix purpurea 'Pendula') is a broad plant for borders, hedges, rain gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet, loamy or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring and attracts butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It grows quickly, so give it plenty of room.

Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Feather reed grass, and Jewelweed.
