Notes

Nannyberry viburnum (Viburnum lentago) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flower clusters give way to blue-black berries that last through winter, and songbirds eat them. The shrub often suckers, so give it room. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Mountain ash, Bunchberry, and Red fescue.
