Notes

Vine maple (Acer circinatum) is a tree for specimen plantings, shade gardens, woodland settings, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Leaves turn yellow, orange, and red in fall. Small purple and white flowers attract native bees, and birds eat the seeds. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Bottlebrush buckeye, and Sedge.
