Notes

'Oktoberfest' strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo 'Oktoberfest') is a shrub for specimen planting, hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense evergreen shrub that reaches 6 to 8 feet tall and wide. Deep pink blooms open in autumn and winter, and bees and birds visit them. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Sasanqua camellia, Mondo grass, Purple top, and Society garlic.
