Notes

Oriental Gold peony (Paeonia Oriental Gold) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double yellow blooms are ball shaped and fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Toichi Itoh bred it, and plants reach 33 to 36 inches tall with bright green foliage.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Nodding onion, and Blue grama.
