Notes

'Paladin' peony (Paeonia 'Paladin') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The loosely double, carmine-red flowers are fragrant and attract bees and butterflies. Saunders bred it in 1950. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Halcyon hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Stargazer lily.
