Notes

Pale beardtongue (Penstemon pallidus) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. White, snapdragon-like flowers have fine purple lines inside the throat, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer. The plant also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Tickseed, Blue fescue, and Sedge.
