Notes

'Papa Meilland' rose (Rosa 'Papa Meilland') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. Dark red, fragrant blooms open in spring, summer, and autumn against glossy, dark green leaves. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers. Alain Meilland bred it in 1963.

Pairs well with Gaura, Boxwood, and Japanese forest grass.
