Notes

'Pershore' plum (Prunus domestica 'Pershore') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Bees and butterflies visit the blossoms in early to late spring. The fruit is grown for jam and pie fillings, since cooking turns it into a golden yellow puree with a good plum flavor. It is self-fertile, so one tree can set fruit on its own.

Pairs well with Crab apple, Dense blazing star, and Little bluestem.
