Notes

'Petal Poem' peony (Paeonia 'Petal Poem') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single, deep velvet red blooms are big and fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. William Henry Krekler bred this upright bush, which grows up to 30 inches tall.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, PowWow White coneflower, and Blue grama.
