Notes

'Pictus' autumn crocus (Crocus tommasinianus 'Pictus') is a bulb for rock gardens, woodland gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and sandy soil. Deer tend to pass it by. The large lavender flowers have white tips, purple marks below, and slight feathering. It grows in a clump and needs little care.

Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Western sword fern, and Yellow trout-lily.
