Notes
'Walberton's Plumtastic' Japanese meadowsweet (Spiraea japonica 'Walberton's Plumtastic') is a fast-growing shrub with a dense, fragrant habit. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy or clay soil. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit the flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer. Once settled, it tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Bobo hydrangea, Bowl of Beauty peony, and Blue sage.
