Notes

'Walbuma' Japanese meadowsweet (Spiraea japonica 'Walbuma') is a shrub for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy or clay soil. It grows fast into a dense mound that stays 12 to 24 inches tall, and butterflies visit its bright pink flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The leaves add fall color.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Picture peony, and Foxtail barley.
