Notes

'Anthony Waterer' Japanese meadowsweet (Spiraea japonica 'Anthony Waterer') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows fast into a dense mound with carmine red flowers that attract butterflies. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The leaves also turn color in fall.

Pairs well with Burnet, Bouquet peony, Greig's tulip, and Jersey tea.
