Notes

'Portadown' rose (Rosa 'Portadown') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Dark red, fragrant blooms open in late spring, again in summer, and again in early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. McGredy bred this bushy rose in 1928.

Pairs well with Star Gazer lily, Fountain grass, and Red Charm peony.
