Notes

'Président Poincaré' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Président Poincaré') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The incurved flowers are a rich, pure ruby crimson with no blue in the color. They carry a spice scent, which makes them a good pick for a vase.

Pairs well with Virginia spiderwort, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
