Notes

'Pride of Paulding' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pride of Paulding') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large double flowers open in late spring in blush pink with a strong rose fragrance. The stems are stiff and heavy, but blooms can sag after rain, so a support ring may help. Dr. John H. Neeley bred it.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Sweet William, and Cinnamon fern.
