Notes
'Purple Elegance' tulip (Tulipa 'Purple Elegance') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Each stem carries several flowers in grape purple and lavender shades with frosted white petal edges. It blooms from early to late spring. Fertilize with bulb food as soon as the shoots emerge, and let the foliage die back naturally after flowering.
Pairs well with Carlton daffodil, Bowl of Beauty peony, and Nodding onion.
