Notes

'Purple Lace' spotted beebalm (Monarda 'Purple Lace') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, and the blooms are fragrant. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Fascination culver’s root, Waltraut sneezeweed, and Lamb’s ear.
