Notes

'Purpurea Tricolor' European beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea Tricolor') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, and privacy screen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense tree that attracts birds and turns color in fall. It sits low on the menu for deer. Give it plenty of room to reach its mature size.

Pairs well with Christmas fern, Lily of the valley, Green Spice coral bells, and Cinnamon fern.
