Notes

'Quitzin' peony (Paeonia 'Quitzin') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The fragrant yellow double blooms open as compact green-yellow globes, and the green blotches fade as the crown grows. Prof. Harald Fawkner bred it, and it first bloomed in 2000.

Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Prairie dropseed, Nodding onion, and Autumn Frost hosta.
