Notes

'Rainmaker' peony (Paeonia 'Rainmaker') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant double ruby-red blooms attract bees and butterflies. The finely cut foliage stays short, reaching about 28 inches. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Creeping phlox, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
