Notes

'Red' blood flower (Asclepias curassavica 'Red') is an annual for borders, cut flower arrangements, and pollinator gardens. This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. Its erect stems grow at a moderate pace. Flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Statice, Creme de Cassis dahlia, and Lion's tail.
