Notes

'Silky Gold' blood flower (Asclepias curassavica 'Silky Gold') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, and cut flower use. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Purple top, Lion's tail, and Creeping thyme.
