Notes

'Orange' blood flower (Asclepias curassavica 'Orange') is an annual for borders, cut flower displays, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. Blooms open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Plant it where you can watch the visitors.

Pairs well with Vermillionaire cuphea, Lemongrass, Totally Tangerine dahlia, and California poppy.
