Notes

'Red Satin' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Red Satin') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms freely from late spring to mid summer with full rose-type flowers in a true cerise. The stems are good, and the color is unusual in peonies. Hans Peter Sass bred it.

Pairs well with Lupine, Switchgrass, and Stargazer lily.
