Notes

'Red Sunrise' peony (Paeonia 'Red Sunrise') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Cherry-red blooms with yellow shading and darker flares open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Derek Irvine bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Foxglove, and Big bluestem.
