Notes
'Red Umbrellas' filipendula (Filipendula 'Red Umbrellas') is a perennial for borders, woodland edges, and damp spots. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. The olive green, maple-like leaves have red veins, and pink flowers open in summer. It grows in a tidy clump about 30 inches tall. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first.
Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Bowl of Cream peony, and Nepeta.
