Notes

Rock cotoneaster (Cotoneaster horizontalis) is a shrub for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly and spreads wide, so give it room. Bees and birds visit the pink blooms. It sits low on the menu for rabbits.

Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Japanese holly.

Western China.
