Notes

Rose mallow (Hibiscus laevis) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet soil of most types. The cup-shaped blooms are pink or white with maroon or purple throats. It sits low on the menu for deer. The flowers open by day and close tightly at night.

Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Blue star, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
