Notes

Rose meadowsweet (Spiraea splendens) is a shrub for borders, meadows, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Deer tend to pass it by. It stays 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, with shiny green leaves and reddish-purple bark. Flat-topped clusters of fragrant pink flowers open from early to late summer and attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Climbing rose, and Big bluestem.
