Notes

'Rubens' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rubens') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears fragrant, double, crimson flowers on a medium-sized plant. The blooms make a rich show in the garden and look good in a vase. François Delâche bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, New England aster, and Cinnamon fern.
