Notes

'Rubyette' peony (Paeonia 'Rubyette') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows upright to 24 inches tall with good stem strength, and the single dark red flowers are fragrant. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Nathan Rudolph bred it in 1986.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Black-eyed Susan, and Stargazer lily.
