Notes

'Rüdesheim' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rüdesheim') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant double blooms open in early summer. They start light pink with lilac shading and a light yellow center, then age to white. Max Josef Goos bred it in 1919.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Scentara Double Blue lilac, and Royal fern.
