Notes
'Ruth Markle' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ruth Markle') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers are a good pink and make a bold show in the garden. Cut the blooms for bouquets once the buds start to open. Pfeiffer Nursery bred it.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, New England aster, and Switchgrass.
