Salcido tulip

Garden uses

Notes

'Salcido' tulip (Tulipa 'Salcido') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows about 12 inches tall, so it fits well near the front of a bed. The dark purple-red blooms open from early to late spring. Remarkable C.V. bred it, and the cut stems bring that deep color indoors.

Pairs well with Mount Hood daffodil, Paula Fay peony, and Fire and Ice hosta.
