Notes
'Satin Sheen' peony (Paeonia 'Satin Sheen') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen plantings, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Ruffled, light yellow blooms with amber shading open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Derek Irvine bred it.
Pairs well with Balloon flower, Nelly Moser clematis, and Lily of the valley.
