Notes

'Severus Alexander' peony (Paeonia 'Severus Alexander') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early semi-double white flowers carry a slight blush overlay and have ruffled guard petals. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The upright stems need no support.

Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Little bluestem, Pink Impression tulip, and Bobo hydrangea.
