Notes

'Shalimar' atlas cedar (Cedrus deodara 'Shalimar') is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows in a conical shape at a moderate rate, and birds visit the evergreen tree. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Western redbud, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Christmas fern.
