Notes

Deodar cedar (Cedrus deodara) is a tree for specimen, accent, privacy screen, and winter interest plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows in a conical shape with blue, gray/silver, and green needles that stay on all year. It tolerates drought and salt, and birds visit it. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Mondo grass, Witch hazel, and Christmas fern.
