Notes

Shrub lespedeza (Lespedeza bicolor) is a shrub for borders, mass plantings, and informal hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil. It grows fast into an arching form that reaches 5 to 10 feet tall and wide. Rose purple flowers open in summer and again in autumn, and birds visit the plant. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Cat mint, Blue grama, and Ruby Spice sweet pepperbush.
