Notes

'Gibraltar' bush clover (Lespedeza thunbergii 'Gibraltar') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Rosy purple flowers open in summer and autumn and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The arching stems can spread 48 to 120 inches wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Autumn Beauty sunflower, and Mock orange.
